The Ledge


She was staring out the window looking into the sunset. The wind blew faintly touching her cold cheeks. On top of a five story mansion, the little girl crawled out of her room and walked on the ledge of the balcony. There’s enough space on the ledge for her tiny feet.


With a big gasp of air, never looking down, she walked forward, gripping on spaces in between worn out bricks. She reached the window of her grandfather’s room. She’s been locked for days and was very hungry. It’s time for her to be free! She went in, but found herself in her room again.
